Te Awaroa Museum Helensville
If you didn’t get down to Wellington to see the Barbie exhibit, come and see them here – free with your ticket. Did you know Barbie was inclusive (disabilities, body shapes, gender diversities, ethnicity)? Or that she appeared in movies? Come and see for yourself. This exhibit is only on during the Festival Weekend!

Your Ticket gives you Free Entry to Te Awaroa Museum
Did you know that Parakai’s real name is Kaipatiki? Or that people came from all over the world to ‘take the waters’ and cure what ailed them? That we had masseurs from very early on. Maybe we can broaden your knowledge.
Come and see a live blacksmith’s demonstration on Saturday 4th, or watch spinners and knitters at their craft.
Learn about the history of horses in our area – including the Helensville Racing Club. Learn about our theatres, our famous rugby players, our involvement in Guides and Scouts.
For an extra $10, catch our minibus and Toni and Ron will take you on a guided tour explaining our local history.
We will have exhibits that highlight the “Auckland at Play” theme of the Auckland Heritage Festival, as well as traditional games like three-legged races, sack races, and toss the horseshoe.
